20th Anniversary of Hope Social Union for the Visually Impaired (HSUVI): Celebrating Two Decades of Empowering Persons with Visual Impairments

Bamenda, Cameroon – Hope Social Union for the Visually Impaired (HSUVI) is pleased to announce its 20th anniversary for this October 2023. For the past two decades, HSUVI has been dedicated to empowering persons with visual impairments and promoting their inclusion in society.

Founded in February 2003, HSUVI has grown into a leading organization that provides comprehensive services to persons with visual impairments. The organization has continued to partner with civil society organizations (CSO), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Faith-Based Organizations, and government / international agencies to offer a range of programs, including education and vocational training, rehabilitation services, and advocacy initiatives that aim to improve the lives of persons with visual impairments in particular and the disabled family in general; including but not limited to trauma healing, distribution of white canes, promotion of braille use and adapted digital literacy for the blind.

Over the past 20 years, HSUVI has made significant strides in advancing the rights and opportunities of persons with visual impairments. The organization has worked tirelessly to raise awareness about the challenges faced by persons with visual impairments and to promote their inclusion in all aspects of society including socio-economic and political life, craft, communications, entrepreneurship, and more.

To celebrate her 20th anniversary, HSUVI is planning a series of events and activities from now till October including raising funds for an anniversary project which is to acquire a piece of land for the construction of an inclusive multipurpose center. These events will provide an opportunity for members, partners, and supporters/well-wishers like you to come together and celebrate the achievements of the organization over the past two decades.

“We are thrilled to be celebrating our 20th anniversary this year,” the President of HSUVI. Tonain Peter said, adding “Over the past two decades, we have made tremendous progress in empowering persons with visual impairments and promoting their inclusion in society. We are excited to celebrate this milestone with our members, partners, and supporters while looking forward to continuing our dynamic works for many years to come.”

I am interested in the empowerment of females with visual impairment in your association . We can give to them distance learning as a soft tool to help them intergrate the digital world at the comfort of their communities while intruding the business world
